As the birth
mother, you can make the decision as to which loving adoptive family
you would want to raise your child. Adoption agencies profile
each family which generally includes: photographs of the adoptive
family and relatives, as well as information about their educations,
occupations, activities they enjoy, religious beliefs, feelings
about contact with the birth parents, along with other information
that may help you with your decision.
As the birth
parent, you are have specific legal rights which will be explained to
you thoroughly when you choose and agency with which to work.
Here, at the
center, we can offer referrals to maternity homes, adoption agencies,
counseling for adoption planning, etc. We have experienced
counselors who have first hand knowledge of the Adoption process and
what it will mean for you.
