Joy in the Mourning:

Every year, more than one million women in the United States choose to terminate their pregnancy.  Of these women, thousands experience Post-Abortion Syndrome.

What is Post-Abortion Syndrome?

Post-Abortion Syndrome (PAS) refers to a type of post-traumatic stress disorder that is characterized by the chronic or delayed development of symptoms resulting from impacted emotional reactions to the perceived physical and emotional trauma of abortion.  Some women experience PAS immediately.  For others, it may be years later.

If pregnancy termination has touched your life and you are hurting, we want to help you!

What are common symptoms of Post-Abortion Syndrome?

  • Anxiety
  • Regret/Guilt
  • Sadness/Sorrow
  • Feelings of Loss
  • Drug/Alcohol Abuse
  • Inability to Forgive Yourself
  • Desire for Secrecy about the Abortion

*   25% of all pregnancies currently end in abortion.

Finding Hope, Healing and Reconciliation

Pregnancy termination has affected millions of men and women in many different ways.  It is our hope to help bring healing to these men and women.

You don't have to face the pain of pregnancy termination alone.  Healing involves changing the way we think and act.

Joy in the Mourning is here to help women and men who are hurting after a pregnancy termination.  We will walk beside you through the healing process.  We offer recovery support groups every spring and fall.   We use a study called Her Choice to Heal, by Sydna Masse and Linda Perry that is designed to help you find forgiveness and peace.

"For the sake of never making waves
I kept my secrets to myself
and no one ever saw
the darker shadows of my heart.

But I will be a witness that
there's nothing in me dark enough
the power of forgiveness
cannot rescue from the deep.

There is no jury
There is no judge
ready and waiting
are the steady arms of love."

Call us (817-295-4101) for more information
about the Joy in the Mourning recovery groups.

Joy in the Mourning is a program that offers help and healing to women who are suffering from the emotional and spiritual wounds of their pregnancy terminations.  In our recovery groups, these women can find forgiveness and hope for their future.

Our purpose is to provide a refuge (a safe place) for women to share their feelings and be set free from the pain of their past termination(s); experience forgiveness and wholeness.
